Ratified under and supported by Nova Scotia provincial government, Dalhousie Student Union (DSU), Halifax Chinese Student and Scholar Association (HCSSA) is an officially registered, non-profit, social organization of Chinese students and scholars. The general goals of Halifax CSSA are as follows:

1.To represent Chinese students and scholars to express their wishes and to protect their entitled rights and legal interests.
2.To help newly arrived students and scholars settle down and adapt to the new cultural and living environment.
3.To coordinate and organize activities such as trips, sports, movies, parties, various traditional performances, and other healthy and entertaining events.
4.To promote scientific and cultural communications among students and scholars from China, Canada, and other countries and establish friendship with other Chinese and Canadian organizations.

Any Chinese or Chinese Canadian student or scholar, currently working or studying, or has ever worked or been educated at Halifax, is welcome to join Halifax CSSA.
